The first thing to remember above all else is that the finisher must be saved or none of this will work.
If you’ve ever watched a WWE event on TV – and if not, why do you play the game? – You notice that superstars go through a routine before putting someone through the announce table.
Since the commentators use that table during the broadcast, there are things like TV screens and other equipment on the table that can cause damage.
That’s why wrestlers usually throw a large WWE-branded “cover” off the table and then remove the screens before putting their opponent on the table.
You have to do the same thing in WWE 2K23 – before the game lets you put your opponent through the announce table, you have to walk up to it and press R1 / RB to remove the cover and screens.
Once this is done, you need to grapple your opponent with Circle/B, then Irish whip them against the table by pointing at it and pressing Circle/B again (don’t hold the button, it’s too strong and they’ll bounce off it).
If you’re lucky, your opponent will now be leaning against the table. If you’re standing in front of them, you’ll be prompted to do a finisher (R2 + X on Game driveRT + A on Xbox).
Do this and you’ll place your opponent on the announce table, climb onto it, and execute a move that takes them through it.
If you want to lay someone on the announce table and perform a jump move from the top rope to land on top of them, putting them through it – that’s not going to work here. You can just lean them against it and then finish.
