Video: New Resident Evil 4 remake footage shows Ashley stages and the Krauser knife fight


Capcom has given us a look at what’s to come in new gameplay videos Resident Evil 4 remake.

We’ve collected the best parts of the footage and edited it into a highlights package, with added commentary showing some of the new features of the remake.

Resident Evil 4 remake – new gameplay footage | VGC

The footage shows you fighting enemies in the fourth chapter of the game, including a better look at the knife parry and the way the parasites come out of enemies’ heads when you damage them.

It then shows footage of the encounter with the merchant and some of the things that can be done while dealing with him, such as upgrading weapons and selling items.

The screen also shows the ability to customize the attache bag that contains your stuff, such as the ability to use small charms that hang from it and give new perks.

The footage then cuts to some parts involving Ashley, showing how players can tell her to stay close or keep her distance depending on how dangerous the current situation is.

It then leads to a fight in Ramon Salazar’s castle, including a confrontation with knives, followed by a fight with a powerful Garrador enemy.

Finally, the footage ends with a look at a revamped knife fight against Jack Krauser, now fully playable instead of QTE prompts.

Announced last yearThe Resident Evil 4 remake will be released on the 24th. March 2023 PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PC through Steam.

According to Capcom, the Resident Evil 4 remake preserves the essence of the original game, while “presenting modernized gameplay, a reimagined story, and vividly detailed graphics.”
