Banshees of Inisherin doesn’t seem like the most natural fit for a video game, but Cogs & Marvel made one anyway. The team released a free Pac Man-a quirky game based on the hit movie that swaps the pellet eater for a depressed Irish man.
This the retro game requires no download and can be played in a web browser. After a quick introduction, players control Colm, Brendan Gleeson’s character, as he collects fingers around the maze before heading to the pub.
However, players must avoid his boring former friend Pádraic, played by Colin Farrell. Additional levels add even more characters to avoid, increasing the difficulty, and also feature incredibly muted audio from the film. Players also only get three lives before it’s game over.
Cogs & Marvel even released a fake video game ad reminiscent of 1990s magazine ads.
