Telltale Games has delayed the release of The Wolf In our midst 2.
Announced last February and the game was supposed to arrive earlier this year, but is now slated for a 2024 release.
“We’ve made the difficult decision to postpone The Wolf Among Us 2 to 2023,” Telltale said on Wednesday.

“We started working on this in 2020 and are still determined to tell the continuing story of Bigby and the rest of the Fabletown gang. However, it requires more time. As disappointed as you are to hear this, we feel even worse saying it.
“We are committed to delivering the sequel our fans deserve and doing what is right for the game while protecting the health of our team.”
The Wolf Among Us 2 is the sequel to the 2013/14 episodic thriller based on Bill Willingham’s Fables comic book series.
It will be available PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Oneand PC through Epic Games Store.
Telltale CEO Jamie Ottilie commented on the delay in more detail IGN that the studio switched from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal 5 for the game’s development, which required “quite a bit of work” again.
Ottilie said Telltale would have had to ship a work-in-progress or inject in order to hit the previously targeted 2023 launch window.
“If we release this game and it’s not finished, we’re going to get ripped,” he said. “The expectations are pretty high, and we want time to meet them, and we want to be proud of that and know that, ‘Hey, this is the best game we’ve ever made.’

He added: “I have [crunch], and I don’t want to do it again, and it’s not fair to ask. You can’t plan a business around it. So yes, part of it is maintaining a healthy work culture. We don’t want to burn our good people.”
Ottilie previously said that the game will be released in episodes, possibly weekly, in the same format as the TV shows, and that all content will be completed before the debut of the first episode.
