Survivor Director Envisioned Series as a Trilogy

Star Wars is known for its trilogies, and it looks like that may not change Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. According to game director Stig Asmussen, he always envisioned this series as a three-part story.

Asmussen discussed the issue in detail IGN on its Unfiltered Podcast. About 15 minutes into the interview, Asmussen started talking about how they talked Survivor and even before it is finished Fallen Order.

“We already talked about the second game,” Asmussen said. “Honestly, we talked further. These are the conversations that when we broke the story down with Lucasfilm, it was like, ‘Where are we going to go with the second game?’ I’ve always wanted to see this as a trilogy.”

He went on to describe the general thought process of what he had in mind Survivor and then what will happen.

“How can we take Cal and the crew to new locations beyond what we did in the first game? And we had a pretty good idea [the] time limit where we wanted Survivor happen, kind of what the stakes are going to be, what the tone of the game is going to be, what Cal is going to face and how the crew is going to take that into account. And we also have ideas about what we could do beyond this.”

Asmussen did not confirm a third installment, but said that if the series continues, it will likely utilize Unreal Engine 5. He noted elsewhere in the interview that Respawn Entertainment is considering switching to Unreal Engine 5. Survivor, but decided against it since it was new at the time, even for the engine’s creator, Epic Games, stating that it, along with everything else involved in making a major game solely on new hardware, would probably have been too much to handle. the studio had time. And at the same time Survivor is on Unreal Engine 4, he talked about how just PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC allowed the team to make a bigger and more detailed experience that wouldn’t have worked on last-gen consoles. .

Electronic Arts has also not talked about making a trilogy of this series. However, the first game was achieved more than 20 million players in June 2021a number that has undoubtedly grown since then, especially when it is seen as if it were included PlayStation Plus Essential lineup for January 2023.
