In honor of the future Super Mario Bros. Movieand last MAR10 Day, Nintendo announced that a new event mobile game Super Mario Run will be added to the game, allowing players to check out some of the game’s levels for free.
Each day during the event, the game – which is free but locks most of its courses behind a paywall – allows players to explore one stage that normally wouldn’t be playable without purchasing the game. Fans who link their Nintendo Account to the game can also play the additional stage for free.
The stages change daily, so for those who want to get the most out of the event, it looks like you’ll need to log into the game once a day. Besides the event itself, e.g. Super Mario Run also get a discounted price until May 30, 2023. As of now, the game is $4.99, a 50% discount from the game’s original price of $9.99.
Originally published in 2016 Super Mario Run is an auto-running game where players manipulate Mario to jump, slide and roll around obstacles as you progress through different levels.
Super Mario Bros. Movie is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic (Teen Titans Go!) from a script written by Minions: The Rise of Gru scribe Matthew Fogel. It was produced by Chris Meledandri for Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto for Nintendo.
The voice actors of the film are Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen. Cranky as Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
