Sons of The Forest sold 2 million copies in first 24 hours of early access

Sons of The Forest has sold over 2 million copies in the first 24 hours.

This is what the developer Endnight Games’ tweet says.

“Thank you to those who have joined our Early Access journey to Sons Of The Forest,” the tweet reads. “We’ve sold over 2 million units in the first 24 hours, and we’re very excited about what we have in store for players in the coming weeks.”

The survival game has already broken into the top 20 top players of all time in independent Steam database SteamDB.

At the time of writing, it is the fifth most played game on the platform in the last 24 hours and is the number one favorite as Hogwarts Legacy and Warzone 2.0.

“Sent to find a missing billionaire on a remote island, you find yourself in a cannibal-infested hell. Craft, build and fight your way to survival alone or with friends in this terrifying new open-world survival horror simulator,” reads the game’s official description.

The game is planned to be in pre-release for about 6-8 months, but according to the developers, “This may change.”

“We’re leaving Early Access when we’re confident this is the best possible version of the game,” says the Steam page.

The developer’s previous game, The Forest, is still hugely popular and grew a following thanks to the introduction of popular streamers and YouTube creators.

It is currently unclear if Sons of the Forest will appear on other platforms. The Forest was originally published PC in April 2018 before publication PlayStation 4 in November.
