After delays, Redfall is set for release on May 2nd, debuting on Xbox Series X|S and PC. For the past few weeks, Bethesda – and game developer Arkane – have been cranking the content mill hard, and now an all-new Redfall story trailer has been dropped, revealing exactly where the vampiric menace that dominates the game actually came from. .
It turns out that the vampires that besiege the fictional city of Redfall were created by a company – Aevum – “a corporation of immortality-hungry parasites”. It started with a few missing people, but it caught on, and before long the cultists were worshiping vampires as if they were gods.
Redfall features super vampires
In Redfall story trailer – which was released just a few hours ago – reveals a number of key vampire characters who will presumably act as a series of mini-bosses. Based on previous gameplay chats, we know that Redfall will see players liberate a besieged city from region to region, so it’s safe to say that these “super vampires” will rule their own unique territories.
In the trailer below, meet Hollow Man, Bloody Tom, Miss Whisper and The Black Sun – all of them “unbelievably powerful”.
This trailer also serves to showcase a bit more of the exciting combat that Redfall promises to feature. In previous trailers, some of the movement and combat mechanics have looked a bit clunky, but things seem to be getting better. Armed with a variety of unique characters – each with their own abilities – and a customizable, intriguing array of weapons, it looks like Redfall is going to be quite the blast.
It was recently revealed that Redfall will be coming require a constant Internet connectioneven if the game is played alone.
Redfall’s release is just a few weeks away – and it’s coming to Xbox and PC Game Pass right after launch. Even if it’s not super polished, it offers a wide environmenta co-op game that looks entertaining enough, and hopefully an engaging story, albeit with elements we’ve seen used in games for years.
