Forza Horizon 5 was released in late 2021 and became an instant sensation among Xbox gamers around the world. When it launched, it reached 4.5 million players on the first day, breaking records and beating Forza Horizon 4’s concurrent player count (at launch) by four times.
Of course, that was mainly due to the fact that the game was available on Game Pass, but fans who wanted to get in on the action early still invested heavily – and they all paid cold, hard cash.
Now Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios have lifted the lid on Forza Horizon 5’s second DLC – Rally Adventure – and it shows good.
Prepare to get dirty
March 29 sees the release of Rally Adventure, which expands Forza Horizon 5 into a second game since the game was first released in November 2021. Last year, the first DLC, a Hot Wheels-themed expansion, offered players no-holds-barred , a high-octane experience that took many contestants back to the bygone days of childhood.
Rally Adventure is something else entirely, bringing a gritty, hardcore, offroad expansion to Forza Horizon 5 with Playground games that ensure players can “build a rally monster” with new customization options.
There was an hour-long showcase streamed on YouTube that showed all the details of the upcoming expansion:
At the heart of the Rally Adventure expansion is an all-new environment, brand new tracks, ten never-before-seen vehicles and several technical upgrades such as anti-lag and launch control features.
Judging by the general consensus in the comments on the YouTube video embedded above, the community is somewhat divided on the implementation of this plugin. On the other hand, many feel that this is too little, too late for a game that launched so long ago. On the other side of the table are die-hard players who embrace every update, including full rally-based DLC.
Where do you sit around that fence?
