Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s next update adds new Box features, various bug fixes

Nintendo has provided new information about the upcoming update Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

The version 1.2.0 updatewhich is scheduled for release at the end of February, will add new features to Pokémon Boxes to make them more useful.

Other than that, the update seems to be mainly focused on fixing bugs, including several issues with battles (and Tera Raid battles in particular).

One thing not mentioned in the notes is compatibility with the Pokémon Home app, which Pokémon Company says it’s in the spring of 2023.

At the beginning of February, the application received an update that added information about Ranked Battles Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violetwhich led some to believe that preparations are being made to integrate the app into the game’s next update.

However, based on the current patches, it doesn’t appear that this is the case, although Nintendo emphasizes: “We are planning additional features and bug fixes that are not mentioned in these patch notes.”

The full patch details (so far) are as follows:

Bug fixes

Tera Raid battles

  • A bug that could prevent an opposing Tera Pokémon’s HP gauge from correctly reflecting damage caused by certain moves (such as Play Rough) or certain spatial conditions could cause the Tera Pokémon’s HP gauge to fluctuate in unusual ways. This will be fixed.
  • A bug that causes all Pokémon on your side to pass out at once, even though their HP gauges show they still have HP, can occur in Black Crystal Tera Raid battles against Pokémon with the most powerful token. This will be fixed.
  • A bug that can temporarily prevent the player from inputting anything into the game can occur if a Tera Pokémon performs certain actions when the player selects the target of their move. This will be fixed.
  • A bug causing a communication error may occur when someone connecting to Tera Raid Battle sees a different Pokémon on their screen than the host. This will be fixed.
  • A bug may occur that causes players who joined a Tera Raid Battle from the Tera Raid Battle search screen to be redirected to a Tera Raid Battle against a different Pokémon than the one they saw displayed. This will be fixed.
  • A bug that causes Tera Raid Battle crystals to not appear after a certain amount of time can occur under certain conditions. This will be fixed.

The battles

  • Type matches against fainted Pokémon will no longer appear when selecting a move or target in Double Battles.
  • A Terrastalled Zoroark disguised as another Pokémon through its Illusion ability can be identified as a Zoroark by using the Check Target option. This is a bug and will be fixed.
  • When Zoroark is Terastalled and disguised as another Pokémon through its Illusion ability, move type matches are shown based on the type of Pokémon Zoroark is disguised as instead of Zoroark’s Tera type. This is a bug and will be fixed.
  • Dondozo’s stats with Tatsugiri in his mouth will increase when Dondozo uses Order Up, even if the move should have been negated (for example by an opponent using Protect). This is a bug and will be fixed.
  • If the Pokémon steels itself after use Destiny Bond and then passes out, Destiny Bond’s effects will not activate. This is a bug and will be fixed.

  • We are addressing an issue that could cause the game to force close in certain locations. As a result of this fix, there may be fewer Pokémon and people appearing in certain towns or nature.
  • When a Pokémon that is not part of the Paldea Pokédex is acquired through a link store, it will be shown as registered in the Paldea Pokédex. This is a bug and will be fixed.
  • Certain actions may cause the main character’s facial expressions to not change until the game is closed and reopened. This will be fixed.
  • A bug occurred for some players after Ranked Battles Season 1 where visiting the Ranked Battles screen immediately after the season results were calculated would cause a communication error as soon as these players received their rewards. After this error, players could not participate in other ranked battles. This will be fixed.
  • If a player has created multiple battle teams but does not use a battle team in their first ranked battles, they may not receive a Master Rank Ribbon after winning Ranked Battles at Master Ball level. This will be fixed.
  • When the Pokémon you catch comes back to you from another player via Link Trade, it may not listen to your commands as written in the profile app (“Pokémon caught at Lv. XX or lower will listen to your commands”) . This will be fixed.
  • The bug prevents the Pokédex from displaying additional entries (such as Shiny Pokémon or Pokémon obtained through the Surprise Shop from players playing in a different language) of Pokémon species that are already registered in the Pokédex. This will be fixed.
  • Items such as Poké Balls can appear in certain places on the field unintentionally. This will be fixed.
