Pokémon Company has released the first trailer for the next era of its anime series, following the departure of main character Ash after 25 years.
The new series stars Friede and her companion Pokémon, Captain Pikachu, and main characters Liko and Roy as they embark on an “exciting, action-packed journey.”
The trailer also offers a glimpse of other characters Pokémon fans can expect to see in the series, which includes Scarlet and Violet’s Paldea region.
Trailer for the upcoming new animated Pokémon series
The Pokémon anime first debuted in 1997 in Japan and in 1998 in the United States. As of 2022, Ash and Pikachu have appeared in nearly 1,300 episodes.
While other main characters have appeared in sequels, this marks the end of an ongoing story that is over 25 years old when it ends.
Ash’s story was supposed to end when he finally achieved his goal of becoming the champion of the Pokémon League last year. This goal is also everyone’s Pokemon video games.
