Bethesda has confirmed that Tango Gameworks’ Ghostwire: Tokyo will finally arrive on Xbox Series X|S consoles on April 12, marking the end of the timed exclusivity window that previously kept the game off the platform. It will debut on Xbox Game Pass, meaning it will be free to play for active subscribers on both Xbox Series X|S platforms. and on a PC.
It doesn’t stop there – there’s also a massive update on the way, called the ‘Spider’s Thread’ update, which will bring a bunch of new content to the game. It might be a year old, but that doesn’t mean its developer, Tango Gameworks, has given up on it.
Ghostwire: Tokyo is expanding soon
On April 12, Ghostwire: Tokyo will be added to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, and on all platforms – including PlayStation 5 – the Spider’s Thread update will drop, completely free for players.

Reportedly, new update includes a brand new game mode simply called “The Spider’s Thread” featuring a very challenging 30 stage challenge. The main story is getting an expansion, a map expansion, brand new combat skills, an improved photo mode, and a bunch of other upgrades and updates that Bethesda – and Tango Gameworks – are keeping under wraps for now.
On March 21st, Ghostwire: Tokyo will also be playable via PS Plus Extra – when combined with the upcoming Xbox release and update, it’s safe to say that Ghostwire: Tokyo will see a resurgence in popularity.
