Fortnite Creators Could Soon Earn Money With Custom Maps

On March 16, Epic Games announced the upcoming “Unreal Editor fortnite,” which will offer creators “powerful customization features” that will allow them to build more than ever before in the game. Now it has been revealed that along with Unreal Editor and Creative 2.0, Fortnite creators can earn money through the game in a completely new way.

A post on the Epic Games Dev community site, which was not available to the public, suggested that something called “Creator Economy 2.0” is on the horizon, which includes something called “commitment fees.” It seems that in the near future, Fortnite creators will be paid “based on what players enjoy” on custom islands.

Fortnite creators will soon earn

This news, which appears to have originated from a Twitter user, Krowe-srand has since been confirmed Fortnite creative news, suggests that the economic system that rewards Fortnite creators is changing. For years, creators have been making money with Support-a-Creator codes, which allow them to earn a small commission on in-game sales made with their code.

However, the “Creator Economy 2.0” can also be set to reward creators who spend time painstakingly building some of the most amazing custom creations in the world of Fortnite. On March 22, Fortnite’s Unreal Editor beta will be released on the Epic Games Storewhich allows talented creators to invent never-before-seen islands limited only by their imaginations.

In fact, in the screenshots shared by Krowe-moh unrecognized screensaver shows the difference between Media Creator and Island Creator, suggesting that the old Support-a-Creator format and the new format driven by the best coders and creators in the game will be shared.

  • Create VFX effects
  • Design a game with verse
  • Build landscapes and decorate the environment

It seems that Epic Games is willing to reward creators who spend so much time finishing their projects, making them as valuable and entertaining as possible. As a reward for ensuring player engagement, it’s possible that Fortnite creators may receive some form of payment.

This is the perception that was touched last year Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney:

We are building the economy. It supports content creators to build businesses around their work and gain more and more profit from the commerce generated by people replaying their content.

It’s not yet known exactly how this works, but it’s likely to be lucrative for the best content creators in the industry. With UEFN, creativity is wide open, and the most talented creators are sure to build some remarkable games on the Fortnite platform.
