Everything Announced at Capcom’s March Spotlight

Capcom’s March 2023 spotlight covered a number of previously announced games. But it still had some new trailers and release dates. Here’s everything that was announced at the event.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Capcom announced that a demo for the remake is now live. The Chainsaw demo, as it’s called, allows players to go through the introduction with no time limit. It is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

This expansion will be released on the 28th. April for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, PS4 and PS5. It features new characters, monsters, mechanics, and more, some of which were showcased in a new trailer. It is planned to organize a digital event in April.


This monster shooter is getting an open beta, and the full game will be released on the 14th. July for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and will also be released on Game Pass. Exoprimal even includes a surprising free and premium battle pass and a few pre-order bonuses.

This new trailer featured new footage showing more characters, gameplay, and new costumes. The cross-platform open beta (featuring these new costumes) will run from March 17th to March 19th.

Phantom Trick: Phantom Detective

This updated port will be released on the 30th. June for $29.99 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It has high resolution graphics, better frame rate and “optimized user interface”. There are also new challenges that unlock after completing the music and artwork. This port even has new versions of each of its 37 songs that players can switch at will. Pre-orders will receive a set of wallpapers and a two-song music set.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection

Capcom has already shown quite a bit of this collection and had revealed its release date of April 14th a while back for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC. However, this latest trailer featured special cards that players can use for each game Battle Network 4 (which were previously only in Japan). There is also a new Buster Max mode that increases the player’s arms and makes the game much easier. Buster Max Mode can be turned off and on as the player freely chooses.

Street Fighter 6

Capcom revealed the final color commentator for the fighting game: Hikaru Takahashi, a Japanese model and actor. There are a total of eight commentators, and subtitles are available for comments in 13 languages. Capcom Cup Pro Tour 2023 is also included, of course Street Fighter 6.

Resident Evil Death Island

This animated Resident Evil the movie comes out sometime in the summer, as previously stated. This event didn’t have a lot of new material, but it did have new key art by Jill Valentine and Leon S. Kennedy.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary, Capcom is making a digital theme park called Capcom Town. It opens on June 23. A teaser will appear soon on Capcom’s website.
