Lego has teased plans to introduce Donkey Kong into its Super Mario universe.
The Donkey Kong figure will be released this summer, but it’s currently unclear if it will come with a jungle set or something similar.
The upcoming product was teased at the end of Friday’s Lego Super Mario live stream, which can be viewed below.

“The Lego Super Mario universe is getting even bigger with new adventures, exciting characters and new worlds,” host Jack Gardner said after the Donkey Kong reveal. “Stay tuned for more information coming soon.”
The demo opened with a first look at one of the newest Lego Mario expansions, Dry Bowser Castle Battle, which will be released on January 1st. August and is pictured below.
In addition to the numerous Lego Super Mario sets aimed primarily at younger Mario fans, Lego has previously released three “premium” sets. Nintendo kits for builders aged 18 and over.

The Lego NES was released in 2020, followed by a Lego Super Mario 64 themed question block in 2021 and a Lego Bowser in 2022.
Lego’s recent copyright warnings seem to confirm this It works with the Lego Zelda setalthough it’s unlikely we’ll hear any official announcement about this during the Mario Day show.
