Creative 2.0 is Coming to Fortnite on March 22nd


Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnite will receive its Creative 2.0 update on March 22nd.

Moving to Twitter under the handle @FNCreate – Epic Games shared the details, including that the Unreal Editor can be added to your preferences Epic Games Store now.

Fortnite Creative 2.0, formally known as Fortnite’s Unreal Editor, will be an evolution of the game’s Creative mode. It allows the community to build their own games within Fortnite.

Talking Fast CompanyTim Sweeney said Fortnite Creative 2.0 will allow players to “build high-quality game content and code and deploy it to Fortnite without having to contract with us – it’s open to everyone.”

Like Roblox, Fortnite’s Unreal Editor allows creators to monetize their content. “We’re building an economy,” Sweeney said. “It supports content creators to build businesses around their work and get more and more profit from the commerce generated by people replaying their content.”

Previous leaks about Fortnite Creative 2.0 have revealed a number of additions that include creating your own models, maps, vehicles and more.

What can you do at UEFN?

UEFN builds on the concepts used in the Fortnite Creative toolkit, adding new features and capabilities. Beta provides creators with an early version of UEFN that will evolve based on their feedback. With this beta version of UEFN you can:

  • Create custom content with modeling and material tools.
  • Import meshes, textures, animations and sound.
  • Use Niagara to create VFX effects.
  • Animate with Control Rig and Sequencer.
  • Design a game with verse.
  • Build landscapes to create a concrete environment.
  • Create bigger experiences with World Partition.
  • Use Fab to find and import assets.
  • Use Live Edit to collaborate in real time with others.
  • Integrated version control for cooperation with Skein
