Bungie and Guerrilla Games have each released statements regarding the death of actor Lance Reddick.
An actor who featured prominently in Bungie’s Destiny 2 and the Guerrilla’s Horizon series, died at home on Friday. He was 60 years old.
Following the news, both studios have released statements commemorating the veteran actor who played Commander Zavala in Destiny 2 and provided voice and facial capture for Sylens in the Horizon series.

Bungie’s statement reads: “Lance Reddick was an iconic presence on screen, in Destiny, and most importantly, in person. His love for our community shined through Commander Zabala through his uncompromising dedication to his craft and the radiant kindness that touched those around him. To say he will be missed is deeply understated, yet equally true.”
Reddick played Commander Zavala, the most prominent NPC in the game since Destiny launched. Reddick didn’t appear in the game until last month’s Lightfall expansion.
Horizon developers Guerrilla also released a statement.
“Thank you, Lance Reddick, for all you have brought to the character of Sylens, for sharing your infinite talent and wisdom with us, for your generous warmth and inimitable presence and profound impact, not only as part of our cast, but in our community. We were so honored to work with you. You will be missed. Our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.”
Reddick played Sylens in both Horizon: Zero Dawn and Horizon: Forbidden West. It is unclear if he will appear in the upcoming Horizon: Forbidden West Burning Shores expansion.
